Welcome
to the Order of Twilight. We are a guild for the people. If you've been
frustrated in your search for a guild that treats every member with
respect and dignity, you've come to the right place. If you've been
looking for an active guild with scheduled events for every level range,
appealing to a wide variety of playstyles, this is it.
The Four
Councils :
We
strive to be all things to all people. At the same time, we also value
and support diversity. We really enjoy World of Warcraft, and life in
Azeroth. That enjoyment starts at level 1 and keeps going on after level
60. To make sure things keep moving, and everyone feels at home, we
have developed four councils.
Each
council is led by one or two officers, and is supported by up to three
assistants. They are charged with scheduling and leading events, coordinating
with other guilds, and providing support and guidance.
Advanced Encounters

The Advanced Encounters Council is dedicated
to scheduling and leading instance runs, raids, and anything
related to high level content. If raiding dungeons and killing
dragons is your thing, our guild is for you.
|
Fellowship
and Lore

If roleplaying is what interests
you, this is the guild for you. The Fellowship and Lore Council
is set up for scheduling and hosting RP and social events, and
reaching out to the Feathermoon community to help bring people
together..
|
War Council
The War Council is dedicated to the war
against the Horde. If warfare is your thing, our guild is
for you. The War Council is a team of members dedicated to
scheduling and leading events and coordinating with other
guilds in regards to all matters military.
|
Growth and Nourishment

The Growth and Nourishment
Council is dedicated to help and support for all levels, mostly
related to PVE, instances, questing, and equipment/finances.
If you enjoy helping people and playing alts, this is the right
guild for you. This branch is also dedicated to recruitment,
and making new members feel welcome.

Leadership
Style
Order of Twilight was formed out of a desire to be a guild where every
member can feel a sense of ownership. We are a guild that is owned,
guided, sustained, and defined by our members. We have a GM and officers
to help provide inspiration and direction, but ultimately decisions
are a collaborative effort.
While
the door is always open for members to provide input and direction,
not everyone chooses to do so. That's when Zanriel and the rest of the
officers come in... to bridge the gap. If any of the leadership is going
in a direction that one of our members disagrees with, then it is our
sincere hope that any concerns are brought up as soon as possible so
they can be dealt with and hopefully remedied in a mutually agreeable
way.
The
idea is that nobody would choose to leave our guild to form their own.
Our hope is that any natural born leaders would find an outlet for their
talents with us. We're always on the lookout for volunteers to take
charge in various capacities.
Our
leaders do not dictate duties. We never demand salutes or rigid protocols.
We're just here to help provide an avenue for maximum fun and friendship
for as many people as possible.
Promotions
Promotions are based on a few key things: Desire,
maturity, loyalty, participation, and friendliness. Ranks are here to
give members goals they can strive for within the guild. They are not
intended to make others feel unimportant. Every single member, from
Wishmakers to the DreamLord, is valued and respected
Alt
Ranks: We accept every type of playstyle, as well as every type of player,
including those who like to play many different characters. It can make
roleplaying a bit tricky, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. For
that reason, among others, members are allowed to have their alts be
the same rank if they choose. Officer alts are called "Emissaries".
Promotions
are done at guild meetings, which take place roughly every 10 days.
The only exceptions are "in absentia" promotions and times
when a member is inadvertantly passed up for promotion during a meeting
and they consent to be promoted "through the back door" as
it were, without the regular ceremony.
Here
is the rank structure:
Wishmaker - A new
recruit... One who started with merely a wish to explore the land,
make new friends, or perhaps to escape a bad situation at home....
Wishmakers
may be removed from the guild at the DreamLord or DreamGuard's discretion,
or on the vote of two or more officers, with no reason given and no
due process required.
-
This is a probationary rank, with limited access to the Guild Hall.
-
In order to keep things clean, and to help us get to know you better,
Wishmakers may not have their alts added to the guild. This is one
rare case where alts are at a disadvantage with us.
Dreamer - The idle wish has now blossomed into a dream.
The new member realizes their purpose in life, their place in the
world, or if a more experienced traveller of Azeroth, perhaps they
now see the role they'd like to serve in the Order. They know what/where
they believe they want to be someday, but they may have little clue
how to accomplish this dream! A dream of great wealth, power, service
to the alliance, or perhaps even a dream of one's own rule!
Dreamers
may only be removed from the guild for violations of one or more Rules
of Conduct, or by a majority vote of the officers. Each case will
be considered individually, and will go before the officers for review.
No warning is required prior to removal, however, if the case is severe.
Benefits
include:
-
Ability
to have alts added to the guild.
-
Granted
access to member only areas of the message board.
-
Ability
to sponsor one wishmaker for promotion a month
-
Access
to the Ventrilo voice chat server.
-
Ability to suggest (add) events on the Calendar which will show up after being approved.
To
become a Dreamer, one must have signed up for, and attended, at least
two calendar events, and needs to have been with the guild for at
least two weeks and make their intentions known to the guild that
they seek a promotion by signing a specified page on the guild hall.
One must also seek sponsorship from a current dreamer or higher rank
to stand with them during the meeting. If you're eligible for promotion,
but scheduling conflicts prevent you from making it to the meeting,
you may ask your sponsor to accept your promotion in your absence.
This is called an "in absentia promotion" and it only applies
to Wishmakers seeking to become Dreamers.
Once
you have fulfilled the requirements to become a Dreamer, submit your
application here.
Idealist - The member now sees their dream in the proper
context of group ideals, giving the dream more substance and meaning.
Because of this new perspective, they now channel that dream through
their positive behavior and actions. In so doing, they enrich themselves
and strengthen the guild as a whole. The standards of Idealist are
a crucible, testing the mettle of all members who aspire to this rank.Idealists
represent the best and brightest of the guild, and are given extra
privileges and responsibilities to match their position. They often
put the interests of the guild above their own interests, because
they know the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few--that
a strong, healthy guild benefits everyone. Simply, Idealists exemplify
the ideals of the Order of Twilight! Benefits
include:
- The
ability to edit public notes.
- Eligible
to earn an @orderoftwilight.com e-mail address, but an officer
must set the password.
- Eligible
to add alts to Children of Twilight and Dawn
of Chaos
- The ability to add events to the Calendar without requiring approval.
The
Path to Becoming an Idealist:
- Achieved
the rank of Dreamer.
- Obtained
season 20 or above.
- Demonstrated
the desired Personality Traits of an Idealist (Listed Below).
- Complete
a council approved path to Idealist (Growth & Nourishment, War
Council, Advanced Encounters, or Fellowship & Lore).
Personality
Traits :
1.
Loyal and dedicated.
2. Self-reliant (i.e., low maintenance).
3. Helpful towards others.
4. Sociable and friendly.
5. Active in the guild with events, meetings, or grouping.
6. Good team players, able to lead or follow.
7. Selfless: putting the success of the guild at least on a par
with personal goals.
Please
follow the links below for the council approved paths for promotion
to Idealist:
Pathfinder
- Before an obstacle can be overcome, or a challenge can be met, one
person must blaze a path ahead. Once a way has been found, others
may more easily follow. Some go to find a new adventure, some to find
a new song or tale, maybe a renewed victory on the battlefield, or
perhaps facilitating a new level of friendship and comraderie between
friends and strangers alike. People with the ambition and foresight
to undertake these noble aims may seek the rank of Pathfinder.
Each
of the Four Councils is led by a Visionary, assisted by a handful
of members to help with leading and scheduling. The Four Councils
are mainly focused on event planning, which can add up to a lot of
administrative burden in terms of moving events around to and from
the Events board and each respective council board. Then there's checking
for conflicts, adding things to the calendar, and reminding people
to show up via the Message of the Day.
Another
part is providing a group where people in the guild can go to find
others who are interested in the same things they are. Everyone has
a niche, and we want our members to be able to fill them all without
having to constantly hop from guild to guild. We want them to be able
to find it all right here!
Because
of all the officer type duties that are required of a Council assistant,
I decided to make a new rank for it. That gives people a title in-game
so that other members can easily locate them. It also gives them a
few extra abilities to help them perform their roles more effectively.
Benefits
include:
- Moderator
privilages on the Events board as well as their respective Council
board.
- Access
to adding, removing, or editing events on the Calendar.
- Ability
to set the guild Message of the Day.
- Ability
to send messages to the officer channel in-game.
Since the Pathfinder rank is a pseudo officer position (junior officer), the screening process will be similar to a full fledged officer. Someone's performance as a Pathfinder would definitely indicate whether or not they'd be good Visionary material. In that sense, it would make a fairly good proving ground. Pathfinder could be a step between Idealist and Visionary, or it could be the final destination for many members who would like to take a more active role, but who would prefer to not have all the responsibility and burden that comes with being a Visionary.
Emissary - There are times when the Visionaries must
abandon the trappings of their acccomplished lives and don the garb
of a simpler time. Such times are when Visionaries send out Emissaries.
An Emissary is someone who is sent out as a representative in order
to learn, or for a special mission.
Emissaries
have all the same capabilities as Visionaries. Each Emissary seen
is acting as a representative of a specific Visionary, as indicated
in their Public Note on the guild roster. In general, it is appropriate
to treat that Emissary as being the same person as the Visionary he
or she represents, because in essence, that's who it is. An Emissary
is an officer's "alt".
Visionary - An ideal that has been broadened into a vision.
These members of our Order, now valued allies and trusted friends,
have extended their ideals to help others, help the guild, or to help
the Alliance. At this rank, we expect the Visionaries to couple their
visions, and that of our Order, with the diplomacy needed to uphold
and even promote the reputation of the Order, defend its integrity,
and preserve harmony for all. True Visionaries realize that all beings
share dreams, goals, ideals, and even visions, but these will rarely
agree completely, and that conflict is inevitable. But with patience
and dignity, balance can and will be maintained, and ideals will become
manifest.
Visionary
duties and benefits include:
-
Interview
prospective guild members and send invites to join
-
Remove
Wishmakers from the guild.
-
Promote
members up to Idealist rank.
-
Responsible
for posting events on the Calendar.
-
Set
the Guild Message of the Day
-
Given
moderator privilages on the Guild Hall boards.
A
Visionary is an Officer, and it is a volunteer position. To become
a Visionary, one must have achieved the rank of Idealist. In addition,
a Visionary must have undergone a screening process, which involves
expressing desire for the rank, and then answering a series of questions.
A Visionary also must have unanimous support from the other Visionaries,
as well as the DreamGuard and DreamLord.
DreamGuard - This rank answers directly to the guildmaster
of our Order, and he/she is sworn to protect the dreams, ideals, and
visions of each member and the Order of Twilight as a whole.
The
DreamGuard is able to substitute in the DreamLord's absence, and has
all the same powers and responsibilities. The DreamGuard serves as
a backup, as well as chief advisor. Under most circumstances, the
DreamGuard has the same executive authority as the DreamLord.
DreamLord- To help turn dreams into reality. This is
the guildmaster, Zanriel. Every idea or thought has the potential
to materialize into action or substance. With the help, support, and
guidance of the DreamLord, even the loftiest goals and ideals of our
Order can be attained. Where there's a will, especially when combined
with consensus, there is a way.
The
DreamLord reserves veto power on any decisions that are achieved through
a vote. The DreamLord also reserves the right to invite, remove, promote,
or demote members without prior discussion. And finally, the DreamLord
has full administrative access to the Guild Hall and all other features
and services available to guild members.
(Zanriel)
I swear to always put the interests and health of the guild first.
I have never abused my position, and I never will. My primary interest
is that everyone in this guild feels a sense of fulfillment, accomplishment,
and most of all, has fun. I am here to provide the means so that our
members can achieve their goals for themselves, and for their guild.
Above all, this is your guild, and I am your servant.
Values
We encourage grouping for the sake of grouping,
and giving for the sake of giving. But most of all we encourage friendship
and comraderie. We are loyal to one another and to the guild, but not
just for the sake of duty. Our loyalty to the guild is a direct result
of the friendships we have formed between eachother.
We
value freedom, mutual respect, and acceptance. Everyone chooses to adventure
in their own way, and we honor that. Some people like to stick to one
path, reaching the highest levels of experience in the shortest possible
time. Others like to go at a casual pace, sampling several paths. As
long as our members are having fun, that's the most we can ask.
Roleplaying
Some of us are very skilled at roleplaying. Others
are not. Those who are the most skilled might be more likely to receive
promotions, and/or recognition for their creativity. But those who are
less skilled at the art of roleplaying, or who don't always choose to
do so, will not be ostracized for that alone. What's most important
is a good attitude. A non-roleplayer with a good attitude is more likely
to fit in than a good roleplayer with a bad attitude.
Events
We try to host regular events as often as possible.
Sometimes it might just be a promotions ceremony. Other times it might
be to raid a dungeon. Ultimately we will be able to host multiple events
for various level ranges so that there is always something to take part
in. Event attendance is not required, but we do recognize that participation
is an excellent way to contribute to the health and fellowship of the
guild.
Future
Vision
We are always on the lookout for people who yearn
for a high quality, well organized guild, where everyone knows eachother
and is considered a friend. The more the merrier if they're good folks.
We strive to be big enough to be able to run events for all levels.
At
the same time, we strive to remain tightly knit, with a sense of familiarity
and kinship. We want everyone to feel welcome and involved, both fresh
adventurers and battle worn veterans alike.
In
other words, we're going for both quality AND quantity, but with a strong
emphasis on quality.
We
plan to be around for a very long time, always growing, always improving,
but never losing sight of what it is that makes us great: Our members.
